A Word from Pastor Dave

Dear Village Church,

It’s a joy to join the elder team here at The Village!

There are so many things I appreciate about The Village Church—among them are the solid and engaging biblical preaching and teaching, the relevant and vibrant worship, and the warm and inviting church family we have.

Over the past couple of years, I have particularly appreciated the opportunity to coach many leaders here at The Village, and I’m looking forward to being able to serve by coaching others in the days ahead, which is a reflection of my calling and personal vision. Knowing that I can serve the staff, my fellow elders, leaders, and the congregation at The Village by coming alongside to encourage, shepherd, pray for, and resource them is a great privilege that I do not take lightly and look forward to tremendously.

The recent elder training process was helpful in getting to know my fellow elders more deeply, as well as reaffirming and reestablishing my own sense of calling and vision—especially to serve as an elder here at The Village. We spent time studying together, listening to each other’s stories, discovering how God designed us, and understanding where we could best serve The Village Church.

I’m looking forward to learning more of the same about all of you in the days ahead as well.

As a result of this process, I’ve seen a great unity and respect among all of our elders, and I am humbled to be a part of this team.

I truly see The Village Church as a church on the move to make disciples, develop leaders and plant churches in Orange County and beyond, and I couldn’t be more excited about having a small part in this great adventure.
